DOT TEST San Diego, reliable dot drug testing

What is a DOT test?

What is a DOT drug test? It's a drug test that's regulated by the government – specifically, the Department of Transportation (DOT).

Safety is paramount in the transportation industry, where the well-being of passengers and the general public is at stake. To maintain the highest standards of safety, the Department of Transportation (DOT) has implemented a comprehensive drug testing program. Dot testing is designed to identify and deter drug and alcohol misuse among employees in safety-sensitive positions within various transportation sectors.

Who takes DOT tests?

Generally, all CDL drivers who operate commercial motor vehicles subject to the CDL requirements on public roads in the U.S. are performing safety-sensitive functions and are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing (§382.103). This includes all full-time, part-time, intermittent, backup and international drivers.

It is essential to identify the individuals and job positions subject to DOT drug testing. These positions often include commercial truck drivers, bus drivers, railroad employees, and airline personnel. These roles are safety-sensitive, meaning that the impairment of an employee in such a position can have severe consequences.

Can my company set an account with you?

The safety-sensitive nature of these roles emphasizes why DOT drug testing is essential. Ensuring that employees in these positions are free from the influence of drugs and alcohol is critical to public safety and accident prevention.
